Biography

A life of scholarship and service

His Grace Dr. Geevarghese Mar Yulios was born on May 17, 1967 to Late Mr. P. V. Pavu and Mrs. K. V. Anna. He hails from the Pulikkottil Family, Kunnamkulam, and is a member of St. Mathias Parish, Thekke Angaadi, Kunnamkulam.

He was ordained as a sub-deacon on April 27, 1990 at St. Mary's Church, Arthat, and as a deacon on March 7, 1992. Ordained priest (Kassissa) on March 14, 1992 by Paulose Mar Milithios, he was elevated to the monastic rank of Ramban on March 21, 2010 at Parumala Seminary Chapel, and consecrated Metropolitan on May 12, 2010 by H.H. Baselios Didymos I at the Kottayam Mar Elia Cathedral, receiving the title Pulikkottil Dr. Geevarghese Mar Yulios Metropolitan.

His Grace served as Metropolitan of the Diocese of Ahmedabad from 2010 to 2022, and from November 2022 onwards as the Metropolitan of the Diocese of Kunnamkulam.
